When Traditional Urns Weren’t Enough

When Traditional Urns Weren’t Enough

Hi there, we’re Emils and Kristians. Like you, we’ve felt that hollow silence after losing a pet - the missing paw-steps in the hallway, the favorite toy sitting untouched in the corner. That kind of grief doesn’t pass quickly. It lingers. And when it came time to find a way to honor our companions, we realized something that shocked us: traditional pet urns for ashes simply weren’t enough.

The Problem With “Standard” Urns

When we first started searching, what we saw was row after row of heavy, impersonal containers. Most of them were dark, generic, and felt closer to cold storage than memorials. These were supposed to be tributes to best friends who’d filled our lives with laughter, chaos, and unconditional love. Instead, the shelves looked like endless variations of vases without flowers - lifeless, anonymous, and utterly disconnected from the pets they were meant to honor.

That moment is when we looked at each other and said: We can do better.

From Grief to Creation

We didn’t come from a background in product design or manufacturing. What we did have was a lifetime shaped by the animals who shared our homes. Kristians grew up with a tabby cat who treated the house like his personal kingdom, while Emils had a rotating crew of rescue dogs, each one with a personality too big to ignore.

That’s how Paws Peace began: with sketches on our kitchen table and late-night talks about what it really means to remember a pet. Slowly, the idea became clear: urns should tell stories.

A New Kind of Pet Memorial

Our mission was simple: transform grief into a celebration of life.

  • Personalized pet urns: Every dog who loved a tennis ball and every cat who ruled the sofa deserves more than a generic design. Custom engravings and details let families tell their pets’ stories - whether that’s a paw print, a favorite color, or even a silly habit.
  • Unique pet urns: Instead of heavy, gloomy vessels, we created vibrant, joyful designs. Keepsake urns for pets that don’t just sit on a shelf - they blend into the home, sometimes doubling as decor.
  • Cat urns and dog urns made personal: We started small, crafting decorative cat urns for ashes. Some white, some black, others bursting with colors - because not every goodbye should be gray. Soon after, we expanded into memorial urns for dogs and beyond.
  • Pet memorial gifts: Families began asking for more - keepsake urns, tiny vessels for sharing ashes, and cat memorial gifts for the loss of a cat that weren’t gloomy but instead carried a sense of warmth and gratitude.

We’ll never forget the very first piece we made for a friend’s border collie. It featured her dog’s favorite blue frisbee, hand-painted into the design. She cried, yes - but in the middle of her tears, she laughed. She laughed because it was him. It wasn’t just a container. It was a memory in three dimensions. That was the moment we knew we were onto something.

Why This Matters

When people search for the “best pet urns,” they aren’t really asking about price, material, or size. They’re asking: How can I carry my pet’s spirit forward?

And the answer isn’t a generic box. It’s a memorial that reflects the life that was lived. Whether it’s decorative cat urns for ashes, small keepsake urns for pets, or personalized pet urns that capture those one-of-a-kind quirks, each one is more than a vessel. It’s a thank-you note to the soul that made our lives brighter.

Join Us in Celebrating Life

To anyone who’s lost a pet: we see you. We’ve been there. And through Paws Peace, we’ve tried to make something that reminds us all of the joy behind the grief. Because love doesn’t vanish when life ends - it becomes memory, and memory deserves a worthy home.

So here’s to colorful stories, engraved paw prints, laughter through tears, and urns that don’t just hold ashes - they hold love.

With love,
Emils & Kristians

P.S. We’d be honored to hear your pet’s story. Every memory helps shape the next creation.
