When We Realized Traditional Urns Weren't Enough | Paws Peace
Share
Hi there, we're Emils and Kristians. Like you, we've experienced the heartbreak of losing a beloved pet. That empty space where their paws used to patter, where their favorite toy still sits untouched - it's a pain we know all too well.
When we went looking for ways to honor our pets' memories, we were shocked by what we found. Row after row of dark, impersonal urns that looked more like generic vases than tributes to our vibrant companions. They were just containers - like vases without flowers! - with no personality, no life, no celebration of the incredible beings we'd loved.
That's when we looked at each other and said, "We can do better."
How Two Animal Lovers Started a Movement
Growing up, animals were always part of our families. Kristians had a mischievous tabby who ruled the household, while Emils grew up with a series of rescue dogs, each with their own larger-than-life personality. When we lost them, we wanted memorials that captured their spirits - not just boxes to store ashes.
We started sketching designs in our apartment, fueled by late-night conversations about what really matters when honoring a pet's memory. The answer kept coming back to the same thing: celebration. Not just of their lives, but of their unique quirks - the way one would only drink from a certain bowl, or how another would "sing" along to piano music.
Our Mission: Turning Grief Into Celebration
We poured our hearts into creating something different. Colorful urns that burst with personality, just like the pets they memorialize. No more depressing gray boxes - we wanted rainbows, paw prints, and designs that made people smile through their tears.
Custom engravings because every pet's story is unique. Whether it's your cat's favorite napping spot or your dog's hilarious obsession with tennis balls, we help you tell their story.
Home-friendly designs that don't look like traditional urns. Many of our pieces double as beautiful decor - a subtle way to keep your companion close without the somber overtones of typical memorials.
We'll never forget the first urn we made for a friend's border collie. When she saw the playful design featuring her dog's favorite blue frisbee, she didn't just cry - she laughed through her tears, remembering all those afternoons at the park. That moment confirmed we were on the right path. Even though our very first urn was made for a dog, we started out focusing on cat urns since their smaller size was a bit easier to work with. We're still exploring and creating all kinds of urns for different pets!
In the end, this isn't about selling products for us. It's about changing how we remember our pets. Death is inevitable, but how we choose to honor that life - that's where the magic happens.
Join Us in Celebrating Life
To everyone who's loved and lost a pet: we see you. We've been there. And we've created these urns because your furry, feathered, or scaly family member deserves to be remembered exactly as they were - full of life, personality, and love.
Because at the end of the day, that's what this is all about. Not saying goodbye, but saying "thank you" for the joy they brought into our lives.
With love,
Emils & Kristians
P.S. If you'd like to share your pet's story with us, we'd be honored to hear it. Every tale inspires our next creation.
